We’re excited to announce that DDC is close to completing a total remodel of the offices in its headquarters building at 211 N. Main St. in Mechanicville!
The 8-month-long project renovated 22,500 square feet of office space that was last updated in 2007.
The new floor plan includes 19 new offices downstairs, 23 new offices upstairs, 3 conference rooms, 2 collaboration spaces, 10 open offices and a nursing room. There are two new café-style breakrooms inside and a patio area outside with garage doors and furniture for employees to use during breaks. Patio furniture coming soon!
All offices have a clean, modern design with glass doors and ergonomic features like standing desks and adjustable computer monitors.
The new layout also includes all new exterior windows resulting in more natural light in every office and throughout the building.
“Our goal was to make our building more inviting and to give our employees a place that they look forward to coming to work every day,” said DeCrescente Distributing Company Vice President Carmine DeCrescente III. “We had been making incremental changes for the past 30 years and more needed to be done, so we corrected and improved many things at once with this project. Now, we’re positioned for growth in the future.”
In addition to the interior changes, the project replaced the roof and all the siding along the office side of the headquarters building. An employee only entrance was built, and the visitors’ entrance is now an impressive two-story room with a vestibule outside. New landscaping is expected to be completed by the end of May.
Energy-efficient changes include LED lighting inside with automatic shutoffs and the addition of 150kw of solar panels, bringing DDC’s total solar production to 700kw. Ten parking spaces feature electric vehicle charging spaces for employees. Inside, a brand new HVAC system makes the building more energy efficient as well.
Discussions of the remodel began back in 2019 but were shelved for years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
DDC completed a smaller remodel across the street at its Sales & Marketing building over the summer, where it renovated half of its offices with a more “modern” approach as well. While no project is confirmed yet, DDC will look to update the other half of the offices there in the not-so-distant future.
The remodel was done by BBL Construction Services, LLC of Albany.
